Jim Pichler is Digital River’s representative on Eden Prairie’s Partnership For Emergency Readiness. Jim Pichler (M.S. SoftwareE ’03) is a senior director at Digital River, working within the technical operations group. He is currently focused on fraud-prevention technology, BCP/DR, governance, risk management, and system security. He is employee number 2 at Digital River, has written and designed many of the systems in place today, and continues to drive technology and software process. Prior to joining Digital River, he helped another startup company grow from 10 to 140 employees, driving the information-technology strategy and implementation for the company.
Jim is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and serves on the executive committee within the Twin Cities Chapter of the IEEE Computer Society. Jim is a board member of the Institute of Technology Alumni Society; he serves on the computer science associates group within the computer science and engineering department of the University of Minnesota; and participates in several local technology user groups. He has published papers in the areas of e-commerce, systems integration, and data acquisition. Jim received his bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1992.
